EELISA (European Engineering Learning Innovation and Science Alliance) is a European university alliance funded by the EU’s Erasmus+ programme, bringing together ten leading universities across Europe—including FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg. The alliance represents over 180,000 students and aims to transform higher education by fostering interdisciplinary learning, international collaboration, and real-world impact through its EELISA Communities—mission-oriented platforms where students, researchers, and industry partners work together on challenges linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Highlights e.V. is a non-profit organisation based in Erlangen that empowers young people through intercultural exchange, wellbeing, entrepreneurship, and sustainability, creating opportunities for learning, leadership, and active participation in society. Through local initiatives and international Erasmus+ projects, Highlights e.V. connects diverse communities and equips young people with the skills, confidence, and networks to become active changemakers in Europe.

The Working Group for International Students (Ref Int) represents the interests of international students at FAU, acting as a bridge between international students, the Student Council, and the University administration. We strive to make student life easier, fairer, and more connected for international students, fostering a supportive environment that promotes self-growth and enhances the overall study experience for our community.

The collaborative work is based on the align idea of nurturing a supportive academic community around campus and cities.
